[nakikinig sa |The Beatles - For No One]

I can safely say that suddenly owning 13 different albums of The Beatles makes everything around me glow.
You spin one record and suddenly, all the world's ugliness zaps away.
I fucking love The Beatles.

granted that she already knew what route my depression would take, she still managed to mangle me by screaming "I'm happy" at the top of her lungs.

The 30 Best LPs for 2008, In My Opinion. [Dec. 23rd, 2008|02:31 pm]

[nakikinig sa |Pavement - Frontwards]

I downloaded a shitload of albums this year, most of them were old. Anyway, it was an okay year for music. I'm not gonna elaborate much on each album like I did last year, I'll just simply list them down and put their pretty album covers. Anyway, most of these albums are available through torrents or crapidshare or mediafire... just work your magic with Google.

Now, these are arranged randomly. I'm not fond of the ranking system. I just placed the album art in random places and random squares--but I do have my Three favorite albums of the year. Those are the special ones. But anyway, I highly enjoyed listening to all these albums. They're all awesome. Yes, I mean it.

30. Rivers Cuomo - Alone II: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo
29. Thrice - The Alchemy Index Vols. 3 & 4: Air & Earth
28. Darker My Love - 2
27. +/- - X's on Your Eyes
26. Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul
25. Grand Archives - The Grand Archives
24. Conor Oberst - Conor Oberst
23.  Johnny Foreigner - Waited Up 'Til It Was Light
22. Mates of State - Re-Arrange Us

21. City and Colour - Bring Me Your Love
20. Right Away, Great Captain! - The Eventually Home
19. The Brian Jonestown Massacre - My Bloody Underground
18. This Town Needs Guns - Animals
17. Belle and Sebastian - The BBC Recordings
16. Uzi and Ari - Headworms
15. Tokyo Police Club - Elephant Shell
14. Slingshot Dakota - Their Dreams are Dead, But Ours is the Golden Ghost!
13. Madeline Ava - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea (except not really)

12. She & Him - Volume One
11. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes
10. Ang Bandang Shirley - Themesongs
9. Algernon Cadwallader - Some Kind Of Cadwallader
8. Shh... This is a Library - Well Played
7. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - Pershing
6. Joan of Arc - Boo! Human
5. Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks - Real Emotional Trash
4. Pavement - Brighten The Corners: Nicene Creedence Edition

3. Sigur Rós - Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust
2. Ciudad - Bring Your Friends
1. Death Cab for Cutie - Narrow Stairs

What can you expect, I'm a fucking Death Cab for Cutie fanboy. Even though Narrow Stairs isn't Death Cab's best album (DCFC Best Album is still a fight between Transatlanticism and The Photo Album), it still is a satisfying Death Cab album. Even though it did not exceeded my expectations of awesomeoness, it still satisfied my craving for new Death Cab sounds.

Anyway, I was contemplating about it earlier and I think Ciudad's Bring Your Friends is probably the awesomest Ciudad album ever. Their lyrics make sense now and Mikey's all emo. I'm such a snob for only putting up only 2 OPM albums. I didn't like Bipolar that much, and Pedicab's Shinji, Ilabas Mo Na Ang Helicopter was a bit meh. Plus, they exploited my name.

Favorite gay/pop album? It's a fight between Mariah Carey's E=MC2 and Beyonce's I Am Sasha Fierce. My favorite Disney star to exploit this year would have to be Demi Lovato and her DSL (dick sucking lips) plus her BFF Selena Gomez (also a DSL carrier). Favorite Music event of the year: Sitting in front of the TV watching MYXmo 2008 and bashing every artist who comes on stage.

Oh well, there you go! My movies list would be late, because... I haven't seen the really great movies yet (i.e. The Wrestler, that new Kate-Leo movie)
